If ever there was a time to try something new, like today’s hand-braided doormat how-to, it would be during a chilly winter weekend (cue weatherperson: “This weekend will be a chilly one!”). While the kids whittle away their Saturday morning in front of the TV or playing in their rooms, simply light a fire, put on some soothing tunes, and grab this fun project to challenge your spacial apperception and DIY capabilities. DIY Braided Doormat…Here’s what you’ll need:
- 165 feet of 1/2-inch-thick twisted nylon rope

- one 35″x14″ piece of craft paper (or wrapping paper)
- pencil
- needle and thread (any color)
- scissors
- lighter
- craft glue
