Burlap, This Season’s Silk

Design Inspiration

Our family’s farm is situated on 160 acres, nestled inside a grove of old-growth trees in the southern, middle part of Minnesota. When it came to home-decor (back in “the day”) and special occasion decorating, it was all about what was available and accessible. Simple, no-fuss, and sweet, our holiday tables would have made Norman Rockwell reach for his hanky. It seems this season’s table-trend is returning to the farm-inspired rustic, yet elegant use of burlap. Done with a bit of panache and finesse, your guests will be quite impressed at how effortless and lovely you’ve adorned your home for the holidays. Your reply might even be “No problem! The preparations went as smooth as silk.” Indeed.
