Since the 1980s there has existed an “ahead-of-its-time” design style and aesthetic that fuses Victorian era England with Sci-Fi fantasy called Steampunk. The juxtaposing of techno-mechanical elements with the repurposing, upcycling, and reusing of vintage and antique pieces, highlights and celebrates what’s possible when we simultaneously reach back to the past and into the future, bringing them together to create something very “of-yet-not-of-this-world”, unique. Just what this girl who’s mad about funky and earth-conscious stuff loves! Yes, it’s all a little bit “out there”, but after checking out these design and decor examples below, I’ll bet you’ll wanna get Steampunk’d, too!
