Okay, so, um…yeah, I’m that typical kinda girl who squeaks at cute things like mini mustard jars and ketchup bottles, Keroppi and Paul Frank, and anything using adorable animals like the one featured in today’s pick for our “DIY Goods, Gadgets, and Gizmos” (squeak!). Everyone is going nuts over the Log & Squirrel: Self Watering Plant Pot, made from 100% recyclable materials and 2011’s Thai Design Excellent and DEmark award winner.

How does it work? Simply place a small plant and soil into the pot and water. Once properly filled, the cute little squirrel appears in the log hole as if to say “hello!”. As the plant drinks up the water, the squirrel begins to disappear down into the log. When you can only see his eyes…time to add more water!

Simply add water for the squirrel to reappear. Top and above photo: newarriva.com.
